What is RACES? What does Westminster RACES do? I want to know more about RACES How can I become a member?	What is RACES? Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) is a volunteer organization of amateur radio operators who have valid licenses issued by the Federal Communications Committee (FCC) to provide essential communications for State and local governments in time of emergency. As a secondary function, RACES is sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide emergency communications for civil preparedness purposes only. RACES members use their primary station licenses or existing RACES stations to conduct emergency communications on certain frequencies. This secondary function would occur if the President was to invoke the War Emergency powers. What does Westminster RACES do?
